Has anybody heard songs from a brand new LIME album yet ?

It's hard to believe but after so many many years it seems that Unidisc finally releases new material. There is also a 12inch and a CD-Single called 'No other love'. Even some shops have the disc in their offer already,

What do you expect ? Will it be as good as the old stuff ? YOUR LOVE is one of my all time favourites.

Can't wait to hear the songs. Hope it's those same distinctive voices again....

Unless another label licenses it, it won't be released in the US at all. So the "release date" would be the same as Canada, since you'd be getting it on import.

Good to see they've maintained their tradition of having really cheesy illustrations on the covers...

I LOVE LIME!!! I think that I would be interested in their new cd when it comes out. I have two vinyls of Lime somewhere in here but its badly scratched. My favorite songs from Lime were:

    1.Angel Eyes

    2.Your Love

    3.On The Grid

    4.Angel(Unexpected Lovers LP)

    Oh Graham,

    You little jokester.

Yeah, I'll say it again--Denise LaPage is my least favorite female vocalist. Like fingernails on a chalkboard. Hey, some of tunes are catchy, but.....oh those vocals! (and HE was pretty wretched too).

Sorry to those who revere them-- it's just my personal little pet peeve. Listen to "Babe, We're Gonna Love Tonight" 70 or 80 times in a row, as I had to do at Aloha records and maybe you'll understand.

(Graham pulls out copy of "Lime - The Greatest Hits", listens for a few minutes, and realizes why he never bothered to listen to the rest of the album)

So... I guess you don't want me to send you that "Denyse LePage performs the greatest hits of Mariah Carey -- Acapella!" CD?

Now THAT would be a "SCREECHFEST" to remember. What about a duet between Denyse LePage and the guy from Aqua ("come on Barbie, let's go party). They can do "Endless Love" for canines...a sort of treat for your pets. (That is, if you secretly resent your pets and their leisurely lifestyle and want to subject them to high-end pain (Denyse) and low-end pain (the guy from Aqua). Ok, now all the animal rights folks are gonna be on my ass. I'm just kiddin', folks.

How 'bout if Lime did a hi-NRG cover of "Loving You"?

There wouldn't be a tweeter in the house unshattered.

Oh, good one, Graham...I can see Minnie Ripperton being raised from the dead to extract her revenge on Denyse & Dennis (do ya see why I thought maybe HE was singing HER part in that piercing falsetto).

Mark, I intentionally held off posting a response to this topic until you had a chance to have your say to Graham! I knew you would say something about hearing this wonderful group's fine recordings all day long at Aloha.

Remember we used to be afraid our ears would start bleeding if we were forced to hear Lime one more time? I remember one fuzzy Saturday morning, one of the aerobic instructors came in bright and early wanting to listen to the lastest Lime recording and exercise. I shot that person my best "I hate you" look and proceeded to play no more than 30 seconds. You don't listen to Lime when you're hungover, dear! As soon at the person started flailing to the music, I snatched that record off the turntable. That type of preview continued for about 4 or 5 records, then I got caught by Donald (for those of you that care, one of the store owners)! He actually thought lecturing me would have any effect - Aha ha ha ha ha ha! Did he forget I was just working there part time to have first crack at the new releases?

You didn't have to work the opening shifts on the weekends, did you?

Was this new LIME recording made during the 80s or was it done recently? I agree with you about "Babe We're Gonna Love Tonight". "Your Love" and "Guilty" are awesome.

    hi voyage,

I found some tracks of the new cd in audiogalaxy yesterday. If you loved the old tunes then you will love the new ones as well. I think these are new recordings, but they kept that old Lime-feeling. The male voice is the original singer from the 80s but the female vocals are from a new girl. Not as high as the old one, lol.

I love the tunes NO OTHER LOVE and THIS IS MY LIFE. Especially the last one is perfect early-80's-italo-disco-hi-energy-sound. Some other songs have a tiny touch of latino sounds - this is new to the Lime sound.

Hope I have the CD by the end of this week.

I love Lime! Especially "You're My Magician", "Babe, We're Gonna Love Tonight", "Guilty", "Angel Eyes", "My Lovely Angel", "Unexpected Lovers" and "Cutie Pie"! I bet I will love new Lime even if it is different.

By they way, the Canadian version of "Lime 3" album has a shorter version of "Guilty" (7:01) than the U.S. version (8:09).

Hey Markydefad, 2 things: I dig your taste, but I dig Lime vocals the way they are anyway. Minnie Riperton's name had one "p", not 2. And what you really want to hear is Denyse LePage singing Lipps Inc's "Funkytown" a cappella over and over. OK, after those clever Mariah and Minnie comments I just had to make a comment closer to the disco vein.

    Hey usagi-san,

We can't all agree on everything, right? I realize a lot of folks LOVE their Lime. I'm just not one of 'em.

But, you have to realize Graham & I were were just being our sarcastic, bitchy selves and trying to get a few cheap laughs out of it. I don't hate Lime THAT MUCH!!!

Sorry for misspelling Minnie's last name--I'm typing too fast--trying to create some lame jokes!!!

I must agree. If I hear "babe we're gonna love tonight" I cringe. That voice gives me a migrane after the first verse ..................

Sad part is I own the long 12" version I bought when it first came out.

I wonder if Dennis and Denyse Le Page will sound the same some 23 years later.

What the heck though.... Black Sabbath played 2 years ago and those guys must be grandfathers in their 60's by now.

now I have the CD... spending a few days in the Netherlands I took my chance to go to the Melody Maker shop and buy a copy of the new Lime CD.

Just like in the old days there are 3 or 4 very good songs and the rest is fillers. But nevertheless I think it's fantastic that they are back again. Of course the young dj's of today will laugh about the music, but to me it brings back great memories.

As I mentioned in another message the male voice is the old Lime voice but the female voice is new. The credits list Denis LePage as vocalist. No female vocal credits, but a few names are mentioned as guest vocalists. The album was produced by Denis LePage and George Cucuzzella and Allan Coelho, engineered by Claude Allard. I remember those names from the first Lime albums and from Carol Jiani, Suzy Q,....what have they been doing the past 15 years ?????
