It`s Gary Bartz- "Music" from his `80 lp "Bartz" produced by Mtume/Lucas.

Now, do you know any of these?

This one sounds a bit Alphonse Mouzon-ish

And this I'd love to know who it's by also.

is that Eumir Deodato, Kool and the Gang's producer? I didn't know he was an artist also....

Cory, it is the same Deodato & I really do recommend his solo stuff as it's pure class. He was a jazz musician originally but his stuff got more disco/funk as he went on. Wounded Bird have got 2 really good value CDs of re-issues out featuring 'Knights Of Fantasy/Night Cruiser' & 'Happy Hour/Motion' which covers much of his early 80s stuff. Also check out the Love Island LP featuring his disco classic 'Whistle Bump'.
