All I can think of is George Benson.
Name the only performer who's won a Grammy in 3 separate categories: Pop, Jazz & R&B.
I just came across this interesting tidbit and thought I'd share.![]()

All I can think of is George Benson.

Good guess, Bernie...BUT, wrong!!!!
You're on the right track and in the right era, however.![]()
Now, I didn't check the stats myself...I'm taking what I read as definitive proof. Famous last words....????
Hmmmmmm........
Any other guesses?
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
I was going to say Sting, but I don't think he has any R&B creds. Then I was thinking Barry White or Isaac Hayes, but Barry has no "jazz" and Ike has no "pop", except maybe for "Shaft".
I'm clueless. :(
The performer has won 5 Grammys: 3 in the Jazz category, 1 in Pop, and 1 in R&B.
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
This peformer didn't really do much in the dance vein; however, I do have 1 12" single (from the early '80's).
The title features one of the most used words in Disco history.![]()
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
Would that be Al Jarreau?
Greg Wilson is tooooo smart!!!! :P
Yes, it's All Jarreau. I'm listening to his latest CD...and I went to allmusic.com for the review and found this interesting stat.
The danceable song I was referring to is "Boogie Down"; maybe "Roof Garden" would apply as danceable also?
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
Hi Markeydefad: 'Roof Garden' was a huge track on the UK Jazz-Funk scene in 1981, but 'Easy' another cut from the same album ('Breakin' Away') was even bigger still. The previous year the jazzier 'Spain (I Can Recall)', from the album 'Take Time' was also massive (Chic Corea's Return To Forever version of 'Spain' was regarded as a classic oldie). All 3 of these Al Jarreau tracks would probably be up there amongst the top100 early 80's dancefloor tunes in the Jazz-Funk clubs.
