It isn't 'Simon Peter' which was the other side to 'Judas Iscariot' is it? They're pretty similar I think:
Hi ! The song I'm looking for is from 1978 (may be 1977, but the tape I got with this song was released 1978). The cassette was a mixture of different current disco hits of that season, including "El Condor Pasa (if I Could") from the Band "Back in Time", another song of this tape was "Music Express" from the Band "Supermax" and I also remember "Bamalama" from the group "Belle Epoque". The song I'm looking for was the first song on the A-Side of that Tape ( a 60 Min. Sony Tape). I'm not sure if it was a band or just a singer, but the vocal was by a woman and at some parts like a few woman together. As I heard the song "Judas Iscariot" by Sphinx (produced by Alec Costandinos) a few month ago, I realized that the song I'm looking for is at least at some parts very similar to "Judas Iscariot". The melody is very similar. The very first word that you hear when you listen to that song (that I'm looking for) is something like "sikdir" or "sikdim" or "siktu" or something like that. Specially conspicuous was the rhythm of the song which could be considered as a mixture of euro disco and oriental influence or my be greek or turkish. At least at one part of that song I remember a text in another language than english, either turkish or greek or may be others but as I said the melody had a strong oriental touch as in the song "Judas Iscariot" by "Sphinx". Also the speed was close to "Judas Iscariot"
I hope this explaination was a bit helpful to you. Please don't hesitate to name any song that you might think could be the song I'm looking for. I'll check out every single suggestion of you guys and I have no doubt that some of you have this song on an Lp or maxi on your vinyl collection !! Thank you all so much in advance for your attention and effort !! PS - I've been looking for this song for 25 years now. Thanks, Armin

...ya gotta beat the street......
@SandraDee : thanks a lot for your answer. Unfortunately this isn't the song, but I admit this sounds very similar to the one I'm searching for. The Band could be the same actually, but I already checked out all songs I could found (or at least most of them) from the producer Alec Costandinos, but non of the was the one I mean. Please don't hesitate to drop a line if you have any other idea. Again, thank you so much for your help !!!
There's a track by Voyage called 'Orient Express' which as the title suggests is quite oriental in sound. Unfortunately I cannot find it on youtube.:icon_twisted: It's an instrumental track though so maybe it's not it.:icon_confused:
...ya gotta beat the street......
I was gonna mention Voyage also, and not just Orient Express.

@SandraDee : Thank you so much. I checked the songs but it isn't the one. I have already one LP from Voyage and I believe the band is pretty good. You are right, the Orient Express is similar to what I'm looking for, so you are obviously on the right way. Thanks again I appreciate your help![]()
@needlefingers : thanks a lot for your suggestions. I checked all those links and also 2 albums from the Voyage but no success so far. You are right, some tracks of Richie Family and Voyage are similar to the song I'm hopping to find. I'll check out the other LPs of the Ritchie Family (thay have a lot). I'm gonna let you know, if I find the song. Thanks again!
