2 that spring to mind are the 'Earth, Wind & Fire' track form their 'Spirit' LP which I adore, & 'Chic Cheer' from 'CEst Chic'.![]()
Remicks thread inspired me to start this one about Artist Themes, you know, those tracks that are usually instrumentals that bear the artist's name in the title.
Besides Trammps Theme, which was mentioned in the other thread, here are a few others. They don't necessarily have to have 'theme' in the title, like MFSB for example
Anglo Saxon Brown - ASB Theme
MFSB - MFSB
Vivian Reed - Vivian's Theme (previously unreleased, it was put on a philly compilation CD a few years ago)
The Brothers - Brothers Theme
Alright, your turn guys.
Disco Funk

...ya gotta beat the street......
Here's two that I enjoy that fit the "theme" of discussion:
"D Train Theme" by D Train
"Theme for Black Light" by The Black Light Orchestra
(there was no clip of this song on YouTube, "Morricone" is very similar.

First Choice Theme/Ain't He Bad - First Choice
(from LP "So Let Us Entertain You" (WB/Philly Groove/1976)
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
I got a few more
Village People - Village People
Soul Train Gang - Soul Train Theme (a bit of a cheat since the artist is named after the show)
Carol Douglas - Carol's Theme (I and II) part of Midnight Love Affair
Disco Funk
I'm not sure if I get the idea 100% but:
Those are good selections. Anything that has the artists name in the title, it's basically a 'theme', but I don't think has to be an instrumental.

Another from Bohannon :
On his DANCE YOUR ASS OFF LP:
Dance Your Ass Off
Spread The Groove Around
The Groove
I Feel
Bohannon's Theme
Zulu
Trying To Be Slick
Party People

And there's also "The Bohannon Walk" (The Mighty Bohannon LP 1975) and "Bohannon's Disco Symphony" (Bohannon Phase II LP 1977)!

One could argue that Donna Summer's Summer Fever and Village People's Village People qualify as themes.

KRIS
"Utopia (Me Giorgio)" Giorgio
"Barry's Theme Pts. 1 & 2" Barry White (Love Unlimited Orchestra)
"Gene's Theme" Gene Page
Boogie People by Boogie People
And I always thought the "S" in S-Beat stood for Soccio, so maybe that counts too.
"Because there's music in the air."
from Paris Connection...
Eloise, K's Theme (Knehnetsky), Eloise (reprise)

I bought my Zebra label 12" copy here from a record shop that was part of a large chain. Must have been K-Tel that had bought the overseas rights to it, they had special disco stands in in many stores, with often quite puzzling realeses offered in small quantities among the big sellers like Luv, Roberta Kelly's Zodiacs and Saturday Night Band.
