"Disco Bambina"... Cheesy title if there's one! :D :D :D
Jussi, great as always.
Heather Parisi scored last week in the "personaggio" charts of the CHI magazine, coming strong at number 8. This chart informs that Heather enjoyed the total of 3 minutes and 58 seconds of television air time during the week. At number one, Dario Fo had been exposed for 13 minutes.
Leggy Heather originated from the USA , moved to the dolce vita of Rome, became a late 70's showgirl and trashy disco chanteuse with a chirping nymphette voice. Her essential tunes are "Disco Bambina" and "Ti Rockero". The delightful "Disco Bambina" especially makes a lasting impression. It also got remixed in 1980 when the track became a throbbing, totally electronic pounder with most of the Diva's vocals trashed. - Please note that Patty Pravo of "La Bambola" fame has reached 55 years of age. Auguri!

It don't mean a thing (if ain't got that swing)
The disco remix 12" of "disco bambina" is a treasured pick, if you can find one. It it has become very very rare now, since it was released only in Italy and in few copies.
By the way, the original version was released only on 7" single and was the signature song of a late afternoon TV show for children, and Eather was the starlette-show-girl there (she was in her 20s then). The disco remix is a spacey stripped down percussive & faster groove. Unfortunately I don't know who was responsible for that remix
I had the pleasure of obtaining this, along with Ti Rockero, as an mp3 after seeing it recommended (I think that's the word) in Jussi's book. It would make a good instrumental...
There's no info on the label who the remixer is. My copy is an Italian pressing indeed but the records must have drifted off to all sorts of destinations as imports as I recall seeing a couple here. - Heather's other records seem to be easier to find. I saw an album with a green tinted sleeve on which Heather is depicted as a fairy with butterfly wings, very much looking like Kylie 20 years later in Luhrmann's Moulin Rouge.Originally Written by Giovanni
