I trust the version of choice would be to get the 12" that offers the instrumental version (always love that !) of LOVE RUSH .
However

Side B

there is another 12" pressing which features FOR YOU C- MINOR as the B side .
This is apparently the same version of the song as found on the album since their timing is the same :4:50.
However,
there is an additional piece of label info that's interesting .
It identifies this 4:50 version as the "SHORT VERSION"
Which leads one to conclude that there must therefore be an accompanying "LONG VERSION" ............????
So,
is there a longer version of FOR YOU IN C- MINOR
and as importantly ..... is it worth the bother??

Hi there - i already also wrote you a PM on this, but i couldn't resist making my first post on here in this topic too.
This is a real hard question - but to my knowledge the 4:50 (or 4:40) album version of "For You" is actually the "long version". The so called "short version" was released on the canadian "Midnight Message" 7" single, the song was edited down from the album version to 3:39.The short version featured edits in the intro, the section right after the long instrumental solo (it jumps straigt to the last corous) and has a earlier fade. I don't know if this version was also used as B-Side to "Love Rush" on the 7" release. I can only guess that the indication of "short version" on the Love Rush 12" is wrong, or that the time is wrongly given.
I hope i could help with those informations
Greatings Marc
