i found this site thru google...
Could everybody take a moment and tell me EXACTLY how they first found this site. Be as specific as you can.
For example: If you found DiscoMusic.com through a link-which site/URL brought you here?
If it was in a book or magazine-which one and what edition?
Thanks!

i found this site thru google...
This site was a link on the 5:am ago site which is a tribute to Trocadero in SF and The Saint & Paradise Garage in NYC. I checked out all the links and was most impressed with the message board on this site and the rest is history. Just try and shut me up!

I found this website about four years ago. One time I was looking for disco websites through some search engine (I don't remember which one), and I happened to come across this one. After I stopped posting at this other message board due to a fight with another regular (that was in late 2000), I had washed my hands of all message boards. But then I rediscovered this site, and I changed my mind about message boards, at least this one (I still won't post at any others). And I've been here ever since.
I used the search engine of Alta Vista to find me any sites of Disco Music. It found good ones, including yours Bernie. I visited it for the first time in the last months of the old board and I liked it a lot. Now I am a regular, visiting it daily.
I discovered this website around mid/late 1998 when searching for disco through a search engine. Around the time you had a disco pic of the month and from memory it was Love & Kisses - I Found Love. Fantastic song.
Bernie. I think it was 3 years ago. I was looking for a song (I still haven't found by the way) and ended up at a site for the Paradise Garage. I'm pretty sure there was a link to your site. I got on the message board and as Marky said, the rest is history.
Find them and destroy them!
I was surfing the net one night looking for disco music, 70's nostalgia items etc..and I found DISCOMUSIC.COM! At first, I read the forums and then the Top 500 songs and I've been hooked ever since! I think April or June will make my 1st anniversary!!!
*DELIGHTFUL*
About a year ago I discovered the Disco section on Ebay and was surprise to see how much people were willing to pay for good old disco vinyl, with the idea of pricing my collection I did a Goggle(and others) search for all things “disco” and came across many interesting sites, one of them was the 5 AM site that caught my eye because of the DJ mix links and the very interesting presentation and description of this famous clubs we all heard about, from there I follow a link to Disco.com, it’s interesting to see others found this board the same way.
i found this site 3 years ago, i always wanted to collect disco stuff at that time , since then my collection is getting pretty big , thanx to everybody here and on top you , it was love at first sight , this year i will be 25 , after listening to all those grooves i just wish i would have been born earlier...found it through yahoo...RU
I was internet-surfing about Disco-Music and
I found your WebPage. It was in early 2000,
and learnt from your side very much. Espe-
cially your DiscoVault!!!
Cosmic Love & Kisses From SIRIUS & DARKTUNES
I discovered this web site somewhere in late '96. Back then it was called "Bernie's Disco Music Page" (I think). Of all the disco sites I went to at the time, this was by far the best one.
Found your site through google.Actually was looking for a database site and went toDJ Rythmns Dance Music Database site and found your link there.Have to agree that your site is as they say the Bomb.
Different eyes see different things. Different hearts beat on different strings. But there are times for you and me when all such things agree...Rush
My lover clued me in a little over two years ago (could be three). He was using a search engine, don't know which one, but bookmarked anything he liked that had "disco" in it. He liked yours so much he called me at work and told me to sign on. Still here, bro, EVERY DAY, whether you see me in print or not.
PS - Did the survey... quick and painless.

I told Marky about the 5AM site and he in return told me about the links on that site! It's a shame the 5AM site didn't take off like your site, Bernie. It would have been a great companion to your site.
About two years ago I found the site looking for disco music fan sites through Altavista or Yahoo! The address was easy to remember, and the site is awesome. Checked out from time to time. About a month ago I found the forum...
Bernie, you should do more of your interviews with DJs and producers! There's plenty of people still alive and few first-hand information about disco anywhere.
I don't think anybody else has mentioned this route to the site, Bernie: I first became aware of the site by reading either Jussi's book or the "Hot Stuff" book; I really can't remember which. Sure am glad I found it!
\"...a once in a lifetime feeling that returns every week...\"
Came across the site through a search engine while I was looking for info on various disco artists. Got hooked on the message board; been here ever since
Hello Mr. Lopez, In answer to your question of how we found your site. I remember surfing the web about 4 years back (had just got a gig mixing (since I had the vinyl out of the 'ying-yang') 'Disco' for a 'Oldies/70's' nite at a local nite club. Had just purchased a laptop for inventory purposes and decided to see what a 'web search' for 'Disco' would turn up. Clicked on your site (and many others) and decided to 'book-mark' yours. From that point and time, your site has been my ONLY 'Disco' site!!
Well, very easy. I just tryed to see if the word "discomusic" was already linked to the net. I was wondering whether someone had created such a site and that's it!
Then I was caught up by this wonderful site.
I did not find another site as complete and interesting as this. Thanks, Bernie! Ciao
Via AOL.co.uk/search. I simply typed 'disco' and your glorious site came into my life and enriched it. The other disco sites don't come close in most respects you'll be pleased to know!
...ya gotta beat the street......
I found this page using google when i was searching for some disco pages.
I think this page is great- your top500 list introduced me to a lot of good songs i didn't know before (i'm 18 - when i was born the disco-era was already over, but today disco is still the best party-music).
And as fare as I know this is the only Discomusic orientated Forum on the web (that means it's the best one!).
I am a senior visitor since I discovered "Bernie's Disco Music Page" in late '96 early '97, when I had my first Internet access and made a search with the key word "disco" via Altavista or HotBot.
I fell in love with this site and it remains my fave among many that now exist
What I liked most in this site was the weekly "mistery disco break". You should re-estabilsh it Bernie!!!
Around the same time I began to buy vinyls again in order to make my collection more complete.
I am not entirely sure how long ago I discovered this place, but it was two forum formats ago so that will give you some clue I hope (3 years?).
I was looking for information on my favorite producer Jacques Fred Petrus, and probably entered through the vault, typing "Change" or "Peter Jacques Band" or something like that into a search engine.
Bernie - this place is IT. Nowhere else have I seen the depth, breadth, humor, international contributions and great-minds-who-musically-think-alike as here.
Thanks in no small part to the kindness and generosity of the members of this board I have been able to complete my collection of JFP records (and discovering two or three new-to-me productions like Midnight Gang and Zinc's 12" only "I'm livin' a life of love" in the process).
It also gives me a chance to write, something I have loved to do ever since my highschool newspaper days. As someone else wrote: "Try and shut me up" hahahaha.
Finally - I have met one of the board members in person, and would call some of the others - even though I never met them... yet - my on-line friends.
Bernie - I hope you understand you created far more than an awesome disco site. You created a community of disco friendship.
OK - enough of the yukky stuff... back to the music!
P.S. I did the survey - no probs.

Thank you to all those who took a moment to respond. I was very touched by some of the kind words that some of you included-thank you very much.
