Great interview. Thanks SandraDee for the heads up. Another great article for my files. Look up to all you Disco geniuses!!!
Quite revealing interview in which Evelyn talks about never receiving a penny for 'High Energy', her friendship with Barbara Pennington, some 'lost' tracks recoded for Salsoul, Fatback, her musical, her business world & her nomadic lifestyle. Seems like a tough, likeable gal:

DANCE!!-To the BOOGIE WONDERLAND........
Evelyn's one of the most professional, accommodating, responsible and hard working vocalists I've ever had the good fortune to work with. And I got to work with her, at least once or twice a year, for about ten years.
And that voice...? No studio, post-production needed! Everytime she hits that long high-note in the "High Energy" intro, she freakin' nails it exactly, and holds it so long your jaw would drop.
With Viola in my #1 spot for hardest working woman on the Hi-NRG scene...
I'll say Evelyn runs a damn close 2nd.
Though, financially...? I'd rate her as the, singularly, most ripped-off performer on the Hi-NRG scene. If Evelyn had seen 1/2 of the $$$ she should have received...? She'd be wanderin' around in her big 'ol beach-house by now.
