More from the mysterious Ritz:
While looking for information on Ritz (anyone have any?) I came across this track from '81 on youtube & noticed how it uses the exact same horn blast as featured on the 'Stars On 45' medley of that year. Did Starsound sample it? Was there technology available back then to do it?:icon_confused: Also, is this the same Ritz that did 'Dance Until You Drop' & 'Locomotion' in '79?

For me,the first sample.....Listen carefully to JAPANESE BOY by ANEKA (1981),they spliced the drum beat from HOW LONG by LIPPS INC.(1980)!
There have been earlier examples, like the one that created Steam's 'Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye', where the drum track from another song was spliced together to form the drum track for Na Na.
But this was an interesting one from the disco era. From around 1:25 of the Commodores track to the break down section, all of which is incorporated into the Temptations recording.
