I consider Wonder Man - MIKE THEODORE ORCHESTRA a much superior track, in my point of view...RU
I recently got hold of the Mike Theodore Orch. CD and could see why many people raved about his work- he passed me by at the time.(I also got the CJ & Co CD which is also pretty good; Mike & Dennis Coffey were so talented and prolific in the 70s but I've only just realised how much I'm ashamed to say.)
Anyway, my point is that I think 'Wonder Man'(by Mr.Theodore) was a major inspiration for 'Megatron Man' by the late great Patrick Cowley. The 2 tracks are quite similar in some ways I think. Does anyone agree or do I need to clean my ears out?!

Yes, in a way you do need to clean your ears out. "Wonder Man" is a way way different style. "Megatron Man" is more techno(or pre-techno). They both have the similar electronic sounds in the intros but, Mike Theodore's is more obvious than Cowley's. Cowley's is more in the distant background while Theodore's is right in your face. While I'm on the subject of the "High On Mad Mountain" lp, I wanted to say that the electronic line in the intro to "Dragons Of Midnight" needs to be brought up about 75%. It seems someone fell asleep at the mixing board during final mixdown. You can only hear this synth line if you are in a club or on headphones. Playing it out of your home stereo it is barely noticable.
