Re: Pattie Brooks Casablanca LPs coming to CD

Thank you for the kind words about Pattie.

    Andy Skurow found the tapes.
Thankfully the tapes were in great shape.

    Kevin Reeves did the engineering.
He followed my "no loudness wars, please" request and didnt compress it all to hell.

These two guys are the "no longer" unsung workers on this project.

It's funny- when we started- hardly anybody was doing Disco Reissues anymore. But now.....?

Now we have the great Gloria Gaynor reissues coming from UK based Cherry Red/Big Break (with bonus tracks!), those great Disco Discharge comps, the Barry White box set-Unlimited (which is as pure an expression of the Sound of Disco as you are likely to buy all year), The Munich Machine & Roberta Kelly Gold Legion label reissues. Grand 12 inches is still going.
And we have the first 2 Bionic Boogie albums coming soon. With bonus tracks.

This is a glorious time to be a disco fan! the industry is shrinking- but the reissues are GROWING! How long this odd condition lasts is up to YOU dear reader........PURCHASE!

The artwork looks like a K-tel compilation. i will keep the original artwork from the "Russian" bootlegs CD's and replace the CD in both with the remastered CD's from Funky Town Grooves.

    Ready for Bionic Boogie!

Sound Quality Excellent - Packaging Not So Good, February 19, 2010
First let me say, the sound quality on this CD is superb. Both LP's are represented from the original tape masters, and it shows.

The photo shop cover cheapens the affair - even throws in a picture from the 1980 LP "Pattie Brooks" with enhanced crayon colors - much too busy and tacky. I wish they had used the original artwork as both LP's had very classy covers, and they both could have been incorporated on the CD cover without the overkill.

The liner notes were disappointing as well.

However, don't let these negatives keep you from buying these landmark albums from Ms. Pattie Brooks. Every song is a Disco Classic, and the audio quality is perfect.
    Boogie shoes
The liner notes too...? The liner notes were fabulous.. It's been my experience that people that put down others have self esteem issues~! So did you buy your 2 copies yet ? I see how well received your other reviews are"COUGH"..you have a 25% in the helpful department...
Furthermore Pattie LOVED everything about the CD..EVERYTHING..
    yes even the k-tel artwork:icon_lol:and the liner notes..so don't be so>:icon_mrgreen:
It's a beautiful day and I have more pressing matters to attend to.
Hello to all the beautiful people here at DiscoMusic.com.Welcome to all the new members.I think I will drop in more often..I will quote a song by The Osmond's,"One bad apple don't spoil the whole bunch girl"..:icon_biggrin:

Don't know who you are or "Stephen". I don't participate in the DiscoMusic.com forum. Sorry if you can't handle constructive criticism.

Boogie Child JUST came in and changed his info from ATLANTA"which is on the Amazon POST ..to Dallas..Nice try but makes you look even more deceitful and shady.. Because Atlanta was on his Amazon info..

You know, Dayna........I saw that too and I laughed. And was just gonna let it go.

Look- I still stand by the fact that everybody is entitled to their opinion (which is why I said nothing), but I am co-signing on the fact that Keith and Boogie Child are the same person.

Dude....just stand up for what you believe in.
I actually had your back- in your original post, remember?
But now? You are indeed making yourself look kinda weak.
Especially when the opinion was parroted almost word-for-word with the sudden ADDITION of the liner notes...almost like an "F-U" to those people AND DiscoMusic.Com. A little honesty goes a long way. As someone who has had their feet to the fire...and simply was HONEST....I have no respect for someone else who cant do the same thing.

But you know what? Who cares? At the end of the day it's a CD.
With inflation, unemployment, Haiti, crime, the party of NO continuing to say NO and all the other important issues of the day? Lets just say I got it in proper perspective.
