Rare! Late 70's or Early 80's, Male Vocal, Electric/Vocoder Voice Mixed In

I was at a disco club in the early to mid 90's in L.A. called "Orbit." (The best club EVER!) The D.J. played popular disco song after popular disco song. Being a D.J. as well, I knew them ALL... Except 1! All I rememeber is that it was a cool male vocal, with some type of elecrtic/Vocoder voice mixed in, probably during the chorus. It was very danceable. I'm guessing it was made in the late 70's or wouldn't be surprised if it was from the early 80's. It's probably a rare 1 hit wonder track. I tried to ask the D.J. but he was up on some stage far from the crowd. :( Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks! I'll definately let you know if you've named my most sought after song of all time! :)

Hey "Thommy," thanks again for your help. It's not Kano "I'm Ready," but great guess. I was actually going to add to my post, it's not "I'm Ready" by Kano, because that's exactly the sound I described. But, decided not too at the last second.

It could have been a Hi-Energy song. I don't think it was any type of funk of that helps at all. I wish I had more to go on, even a few words! All I know is, I'll know it as soon as I hear it, because I was so excited when it came on, it was a song that I hadn't heard since it was popular.
