    Hi Albert,

I also like L.A.X. and his hit "Dancin' at the Disco" (#487 on the present disco music top-500). Great female vocal (let's make love tonight...) and great male vocal too. Good sax' solo.

Recently I was listenin' to L.A.X "Saturday Night Something Special" and El Coco "Afrodesia" and I've found good moviments of violins on these songs. Both songs have the same concertmaster, Bill Henderson (or William "Bill" Henderson). I read in the Army Symphony's site: "On March 3, 2001 Dan Thomason reported that Bill had passed away several months before. Bill lived in Los Angeles and was still playing jobs there". Bad "news" if it is true.

I hear that the concertmaster of L.A.X. "Dancin' at the Disco" is Albert Speguel. I think that it's not true.

    Hi Marcio!

You did a great detective job concerning William Henderson's death. How did you find out? Was it by accident? I can't believe you usually visit the Army Symphony site...

Anyway, I've checked the link that you mentioned and it was there. And even with little information about him on that site, we can say it was really the same man who worked with LAX and others in the disco era.

Bill Henderson worked also in many Rinder & Lewis productions (El Coco, etc...). But of course, he didn't start in DISCO. A while back I happened across some late 60's soul compilations and in a few unknown tracks recorded in Los Angeles, Bill was credited responsible for strings or string arrangement or even: orchestra by "Willie" Henderson.

I guess he was a long time in the music business. The man was really good.

Bernie, unfortunately there is one more to put on the DECEASED new section of your website.

    Paulo:

It's very possible that's just William "Bill" Henderson. In the disco age he worked like violinist/concertmaster in Los Angeles. The complete name of the site is 7th Army Symphony - dedicated to the players of the orchestra. It's not a military site ! But Bill Henderson can do the "highligth" of the disco songs, no doubt.
