A Beat Called Love - The Grid

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=The1vuTsQfo

Just thought I'd say how fabulous I think this track is! One of the best records of the last 20 years without doubt. Much better than 'nu-disco'. This is true modern disco with not a sample in sight. House music, like hip-hop was really good & then it all went a bit Pete Tong in the mid 90s. Also, why was this not a big hit when other inferior stuff from The Grid was huge?:icon_confused::icon_evil:

I loved The Grid, but it seemed to me that their worst stuff did the best. 456 was pure pop brilliance, but it flopped. Meanwhile, forgettable novelty tracks like "Texas Cowboys" and "Swamp Thing" were huge.

I guess it's the curse of Dave Ball. Soft Cell's best material got ignored too. The Art Of Falling Apart is a masterpiece.

"CRYSTAL CLEAR" and "FLOTATION" are two of my favorites by them as well as "A BEAT CALLED LOVE"

That's what I mean BR, you're right, those tracks are what i would class as novelty fluff; I s'pose that's what the majority of the public seems to want.:icon_confused:
