Hello everyone,
I am looking for a website (or another resource) that can list the weekly disco charts - in the US, UK and as many other countries around the world. For example I know that 30 years ago to the day 'Hot Stuff' was No.1 in the UK Disco chart, but I want to foind all the other weekly charts for the years 1977-1979.
Thank you!

Not aware of a website that lists the weeklies, but back in '95-'96, I just went to a local university library and did the research on the dance chart weeklies the tedious, manual way (cranking thru microfilmed copies). I would have to think that London has a library that still possesses archived back copies of Billboard, considering the mag's a music industry standard.
I can't really answer but Allmusicguide.com lists every peak position for every album and song if we click on the album or song name in the column "charts and awards".
Example: Donna Summer singles from 1975 to 1979:
1975 Love To Love You Baby Club Play Singles 1
1975 Love To Love You Baby Disco Singles 1

Wikipedia has a list, by week, of the #1 Dance songs going back to the 1970s.
And, Joel Whitburn (finally) put together a book with disco/dance chart data similar to his other Billboard chart compilation books:

I too am looking for the Billboard Disco Chart around this time also within the region of 1980/81 as Im serching for a particular Disco Tune. It did chart in the Billboard Disco Chart some time in 1980/81. I need it to check it against the one that was in the chart at that time so that I then hopefully have the correct Title & Artist.
Michael Mclory - What you Wont Do For me
It still rings a bell but as I no longer have that weeks Billboard Magazine with this title in the Billboard Disco Chart its more than likely I have to keep searchingh till I find it for this title & artist.
Thanks
Someone just pointed out (I can't remember which post, but "thank you") that you can see old Billboard mags online at Google Books...

Ahhhh thats great.
Thanks for the info.
Yes I even remember the ads in there as well from Downstairs Records & Mail-o-Disc
Any of these still going these days
Terry
I got to the city in 1987 and Downstairs Records had relocated to the Times Square area, but it closed many years ago. I don't know Mail-o-Disc.
There is Disc-O-Rama and there are two or three still around, dealing with CD's and DVD's. I noticed a new one on 8th Street near 6th Ave last week. I think this is the West Village one(by The Monster) relocated. I didn't go in, so I don't know if they bought their basement of records with them. I'll check it out sometime.
Glad to be of assistance! That treasure trove of Billboards on Google Books has brought many hours of pleasurable eyestrain, reading everything from the stories to the record promo ads down to the tiny-type Downstairs Records ads. It's a real step into a time machine, as well as a "remember that?" memory test for those of us who were there...

Thanks tmob for bringing this treasure of magazines to our attention. I'll be doing a lot of that eyestraining in days and weeks to come. It's a guilty pleasure of mine to peruse music charts from the past and with the stories, columns and ads surrounding them, it helps transport us back to that time. These magazines help bring more truth to those times because they were written while everything was happening rather than our own thoughts and memories which can often romanticize the past.
