I think the second song is
"Funky little beat" by Connie, on sunnyview records from 85'

Hi,
I used to hear these 2 songs all the time when I used to play in a club band back in the 80s. I'm dying to hear them again.
1. The chorus has female vocalist singing something like "too far gone, I can't hold back, must be love, can't cool down" (not exactly sure if that's correct). If you're musical, it's in a minor key.
2. Female singer--the lyric I remember most is something like "rocking in the street, to the funky beat", then there's a spoken word part where she says "I don't know what to do", and then the sample of "do--do--do" repeats and speeds up and slows down in pitch.
2 very cool tunes. Please help!
thank you,
rastro2

I think the first song is Alisha - Too Turned On -- "cause I'm too turned on, I can't turn back, I'm all keyed up and I can't cool down"

"Make me believe in you....show me that love can be true...."
Wow! Thanks so much for the help! I never would've figured those out, esp. with the lyrics being so far off (well, it was 20+ years ago, the songs were heard mostly in loud clubs in South Florida). Just downloaded them from Amazon, and they still sound great!
thanks again,
Joe
