How long was the Ritchie Family "Brazil" 45?

Does anyone have the 7" vinyl of Richie Family's "Brazil", and can tell me the track length? And it was shorter than the 5 minute + album version, did they just cut some of the end of the song or is it a more elaborate re-edit? :icon_biggrin: Thanks.

The US / 20th Century Records 7" single of "Brasil" was 3:14
With "Hot Trip", another good instrumental, @ 2:17, on the b-side.
(I don't recall "Hot Trip" being released anywhere else.)

For some reason I remember the fade-outs, on the radio, to be the same as the LP's. There's probably just a duplicative section, chopped-out of the middle to make it shorter.

Cool! Thanks for the info. I figure they just faded out somewhere in the middle. There are a couple places where that would work.

I believe, there were a few promo 45's, that were a bit longer. Mine is long gone now. The 45 was real bright---tinny--- (Sounded like nails coming out of the speakers).
That song used to pack the floor.

I believe 'Brazil' was the only Ritchie Family track that had Earl Young on drums. The first couple of LPs used the MFSB rhythm section (I'm not 100% sure about African Queens), and Charles Collins was the main drummer with Michael 'Sugar Bear' Foreman on bass, at least that's what my ears tell me. I believe Foreman is playing bass on 'Brazil'.

Hot Trip on the flip side doesn't sound Philly at all. It must have been a left over from some other session done somewhere else (maybe in Europe?).
