Since I am going away on a trip to visit some friends in ITaly (Milan, Bologna and Roma)
I thought of a New Challenge
I will write down three songs
of a certain style and genre that will be the cornerstones of a certain playlist for my MD
And then everyone is invited to fill in the remaining 14 given that they will fit in the theme or style of one or more of the three cornerstone songs.....
The Cornerstone Songs
Indeep - Last Night a DJ Saved My Life
Delegation - Heartache no9
Oliver Cheatham - Get Down Saterday Night
Have Fun!
Assuming that you only want one title per poster I'd go with...............bloody hell this is difficult 'cos the three named tracks hardly belong to a similar style, but.............
Carl Carlton - She's A Bad Mama Jama
commercial disco funk didn't come much better than this and it's hardly swamped loadsa CD compilations, especially the full length vesion with the really ace high pitched synth solo towards the end. If this record doesn't move ya, nothing will.
Let this dj 'save your life' by adding a little 'D' Train, "Keep On", after Indeep. :D
I'm not sure I get this.. :-? But then, I never do!
After Cheatham I'd add "Secret Rendezvous" by Leon Haywood (1983). They are very alike.
As usually I am not that good at instructing in writting
What I meant is that each person adds 14songs that all have something in common with one or more of the cornerstone songs.....
As for similiarties I'd say Heartache no 9 and DJ Saved My life have very similar beat....
and Oliver Cheatman's is a bit different but still uptempo and groovy nevertheless
I appreciate all the contribution you have made thus far
But don't stop
We'r just getting Started
;)
mmm, let's see... next to Delegation, and segueing into each other:
-NARADA MICHAEL WALDEN - Tonight I'm alright
-KAREN SILVER - Nobody else
-KID CREOLE FEATURING COATI MUNDI - Qué pasa/Me no pop I
-BARRABAS - On the road again (fits the road theme, BTW)
-K.I.D. - It's hot (thanks Giovanni for giving me the name of this track)
-PETER JACQUES BAND - Feel good party time
-VAUGHAN MASON - Big guitar
-EVELYN KING - I'm in love
-D-TRAIN - You're the one for me
-FANTASY - It's too late
-WEEKS AND CO. - Rock your world
-ROY AYERS - Running away
-DELEGATION - Put a little love on me
-INSTANT FUNK - I got my mind made up
Also, you can spin Indeep's track anyway in the middle. Hey, this was fun... 8)
Good luck sutnop, I envy you, it's been like two years since the last time I had a vacation...
It don't mean a thing (if ain't got that swing)
