:icon_cool:Hello. I have just found and am in love with U.N by U.N. I also love Freddie James "Get Up And Boogie" album. Can someone tell me more about Tony Green. And their experience with U.N and Freddie James
Prior to becoming a well-known record producer,Tony Green was already an in-demand recording artist/guitarist on the Quebec music scene.I remember seeing him push his singles on various local TV shows in the 70's.
He was signed to RCA at the time and released a few singles.
His 12" single called I am a fool came out in 1977 and he worked with Jacques Lafleche (Martin Stevens/Alma Faye Brooks/Space Project/Black light Orchestra).
He went on to produce, write or play on early disco classics for Geraldine Hunt,Caroline Bernier,Freddie James and Kebekelektrik - and also produced and released on his own label (TGO records) the debut album from 80's Canadian band Luba.
But his biggest success came as France Joli's producer/songwriter (France Joli,Tonight (79/80) and they reunited on If you love me (1998).Touch and Breakaway were huge club hits (Junior Vasquez,Jurgen Korduletsch and Eddie Baez provided assorted mixes).
He also charted with songs by Sharon (with the La vie en rose-inspired If you love me (L'Hymne a L'amour),Cindy Valentine (Pick up the pieces (To my heart)/Secret rendez-vous),Norma Lewis (Maybe this time) and Goldie Alexander (Knocking down love) among others.
He also produced Almighty diva Hannah Jones (What the child needs) in 1998.
