Trying to identify this song with the lyrics since 1979 i have very rare collection of 45's and albums from 1972-1979, i am a musician music arranger, rhodes,strings,ARP odyssey,and drums, been in the NYC discoSoul scene from 1975-1979. I met the crown heights affair in 1978, my friend and comrade joey booked them at the cotillion terrace in bensonhurst brooklyn, my friends have a rare live recording of "Dreamin a dream",dancin","everybeat of my heart" "do the french way, sexy ways" We lost our studio out to BT Express at soundlab in sheepshead bay. Our Band played at 2001 Musique backed us up, we became a house band there on 64st. penthouse,talk of the town,upstairs lounge,benson plaza ballroom,soap factory jersey city, mothers in wayne nj, our other band,music company,jon wite group Peter B.... where are you.
the lyrics are:

i have somewhere a 1.30 minute
clip on tape. it was from a live fm radio WPIX. i have several live WPIX, WXLO 99X,WKTU 92.3 with Paco, WBLS Sure shot Frankie Crocker, these tapes have DJ "steve smokin weed" on 99X complete with comercials,jingles,news,and 70's slang words.
listening to these tapes originally on 8track cart. transferred to cassette, puts you back in 1976 or so. espec when they announce buy a new capri for 76 at a dealer near you for $5750, i used to tape
over the air, even have AM WABC Harry Harrison, Brucie
from 1971 to late 1973 then went to FM.
If anyone can recognize the lyrics to the song it would close the 30 year search.
One final note the band has a male vocalist, with harmony bu vocals on the chorus. sounds like the philly sound, tempo is about 130-133 bpm at 4/4 time. it has the legato strings like "im doin fine now" NYC. i think the song came out between 1976 and 1979.

Another rare one thats got me puzzled was lyrics to "get up and do your thing, this was played at manhattan beach on kingsboro college station 90.? in 1977. much love and peace, right on.

Think track Party is by Leon Hayward was 1979 on MCA Records 12" same label as Starguard Which way is up etc

thanks, but its not by leon haywood. i ahppened to listen to party by haywood, and thats not the song. the lyrics dont match and the tempo is too slow. anyone else can identify this song. sttill waiting. peace mjsa
