    question for passionate disco fans!

I'd be a bit curious to know if (or how many of you) listen to disco very early in the morning, maybe when you're up and getting ready for work or school? As much as I love the music, I find it a bit too abrasive and stimulating very early in the morning, so I usually listen to jazz, folk or ballads. On the other hand, I NEVER go anywhere I suspect my spirits will need a lift (like the airport, a public office, out exercising, jury duty selection room.....) without my beloved dance music.

I love all kinds of music myself. But I generally don't play any kind of music when I first wake up. However, after I've been up an hour or two, the music will come on. I tend to prefer something like light classical, new age, ballads, or quiet storm music. This would be any time around 8 to 11 am.

I am usually at the gym at 6AM in the morning, and listen to disco music/mixes right away. If I am sleeping in a little, I put on the news first, and then put on some type of dance music, even today's, to shower and get ready.

I still use a cassette walkman or CD player to work out with.

I like many types of music, but if I am moving, I usually listen to disco. Sometimes I just call a song up on youtube.

Disco mixes are my relaxation music of choice.

I am a hyper-active person and I think the music has to match my ongoing energy.

I run/walk outside a lot too, but I don't listen to anything then. I want to hear traffic/people.

Because I've decorated my circa 1960 apt. with fringe and vintage lunchboxes and disco balls and Blackglama furrier ads, tossing vintage vinyl on the turntable in the morning feels as natural as can be.

I listen to Disco music at any moment of the day except for the few minutes before falling asleep.

No one would stand Disco music as loud as I listen when I go to work in the morning.

I do listen to some other styles in between but nothing compares to the time I spend on Disco/Dance.

Basically, 97.269% of my spare time is allocated to active/passive music listening and 2.731% on watching TV/movies

Dunno if this taste will ever erode...

I'm blasting Souvenirs, Cocomotion, Reach Your Peak, and Runaway Love in the mornings lately. :icon_biggrin:

    These are my current alarm tunes on my cell phone;

Crown Heights Affair : I see the light
    Roy Ayers : Runnin'
    Side Effect : Always There
William DeVaughn : Be thankful for what you got
    Demis Roussos : L-O-V-E
(Not so disco) Just Jack : Glory Days

Great tracks to start the day with.

After that in the car to work, it's Party Time. :icon_cool:
I got Disco mix Cd's all over the place. I could decorate my house with it. :icon_lol:

Well, if it's really early in the morning, I pretty much like dead silence, but once I'm listening to music, it can be whatever I'm in the mood for or have been bingeing. I've been almost all disco for the last six months or so, so it's mostly been disco sun-up to sun-down, with the occasional jazz or Steely Dan or Boz Scaggs lately. In a few months, I may be onto another Kansas and Journey kick for a while, or something else. Who knows? :icon_mrgreen:

Re: question for passionate disco fans!

The answer is no I'm afraid.

I usually get up at 7 AM (if I don't have to work at night that is) and then I listen to the extended news (I'm a news-addict) but no music. Then I hit the shower where I don't listen to music and I certainly don't sing.

Actually there's no music until we open at 2 PM but then it's non-stop till past midnight. If I'm on the road I usually listen to AFN (American Forces Network) or I play a CD (no I-Pod, I don't want it!), mostly Prince-stuff or James Last (seriously I love playing James in a car or truck!).

So, it really depends on my schedule for the day.

Thumbs down Re: question for passionate disco fans!

I don't listen to it exclusively, but it's part of the mix of music I like to play on my mp3 players when I'm doing morning jogs or travelling to and from work. And of course, I'm listening to it at work. By mix, it's all soul funk or disco music, old school! Nothing new. Once in a while, I might listen to some late 80s rap, but other than that, it's all 60s and 70s dance music.

Disco/Dance/Club music is definitely my "feel good" choice for listening, but I'm just as passionate about my Slowjams/Ballads.70's Soft Rock:icon_lol:
weekdays begin around 5:30am, my "alarm" is set to the radio, so it's Old School/New School music right off the bat, flip on the TV (Um, I mean "press the remote) and I usually have the news on and the radio going in conjunction focusing on either or, depending...
Radio's on in the car on the way in, radio is on all day at work. "What" i'm listening to is all dictated by mood, could be fast or slow, radio or ipod or internet (even in the car, got internet radio on the cell) bottom line is, music's on unless I'm watching a tv show or movie, and even then sometimes the music's playing during commercials or slow moving plots
