As Alison Goldfrapp explains, "I love disco, Donna Summer, Macarthur Park, all that stuff. On the last album people would go, 'what are your influences?' and I'd go, 'Ennio Morricone and disco'. Black Cherry has that same campness but campness explored in a different way."

They did a rather unusual cover of Baccara's "Yes Sir, I Can Boogie" as a b-side a few years ago.
One of their singles off the 3rd LP (don't know the title as I lost interest in them after the first LP) always reminds me of 'The Crunch' by The Rah Band. Personally I see Goldfrapp as being a little like the Pet Shop Boys in that they're better when they're not trying to be disco-ey.
