Thanks for the heads up on that one, Ashley. I'll have to dig around my area to see if I can buy it locally.
Disco Funk
The Philly fans on this forum may want to grab a copy of the latest copy of Waxpoetics No. 33 as it's "The Philly Issue"
Wax Poetics - I've not read it yet so I can't tell you if it's an essential buy.

Disco Funk
It's a January issue according to the website...I hope it's still available.
I bought this back in January and I thought it was an excellent issue. Great interviews with Gamble & Huff, Teddy Pendergrass and Vince Montana (although I suppose if you've read Vince's interviews elsewhere, you probably won't come away with anything entirely new). That said, even though Waxpoetics is generally oriented towards a Hip-Hop/Soul audience, it's an excellent magazine and from time to time they have some great disco-related articles and interviews.
They've ran interviews with Patrick Adams, Leroy Burgess, Pierre Jaubert, Randy Muller just to name a few off the top of my head.. I usually check it out whenever I see a new issue and most of the time, I find something interesting, even if there isn't anything on a disco producer/artist specifically..
