12" singles/vinyl in Manhattan NY

Hi guys!

Going to NY for a few days later this week. Can anyone recommend a decent store that sells old/current, second hand/new 12" singles and vinyl? Particularly interested in mainstream pop and rock and disco rather than rap or hiphop. If you know any stores to rummage through, PLEASE let me know, I will be extremely grateful! This thread may also help others planning a similar trip this year.

Check Generations, Bleeker Bob's, Academy Records and East Village stores.

Also, J&R has been putting out boxes of records lately, and they have a great disco CD department.

You may want to try Downstairs Records, if they're still around. As I recall they had 2 locations: 52 E. 14th St., (212) 598-4666, &, 232 E. 9th St., (212) 375-0297. Both located in lower Manhattan, aka, Greenwich Village!!! The funny thing about this store is that you actually have to go, "upstairs" to get to the store!!! Never could figure out that concept..............?????

Make sure you chill out in Washington Square Park while you're down there!!! I'm getting homesick.............
