It was a song played in the discos in the 70s and 80s. Pretty popular. I'm thinking it could be considered dance/pop too.

First artist I think of is Donna Summers, but checking iTunes none of her songs sound like what I'm looking for ... would help if I heard the beginning of the her songs on iTunes.
It starts out with the artist going/saying something like ooooouuuuuuuuu for an extended time peroid, like "you" without the "y" and it's kind of erie/haunting. It's more of a sound than a word
Then it turns into quite a fast paced / fast beat song.

Edit, found the song, ended up being Donna Summers after all, "I feel Love". Kind of techno pop.
