The LA Times reported the following:
"Having been uninvolved with recent tours, Earth, Wind & Fire founder Maurice White has co-produced the band's first album of new material in six years. Titled "Promise Of The New," the album is due May 20 on L.A.-based Kalimba Records, with a summer tour to follow. It's unclear what role White, who has Parkinson's disease, will have in the concerts."
I didn't know White had Parkinson's disease. Well, at least he is still creatively active, unlike "The Maestro": Barry White . I haven't heard anymore info on White's condition--anyone know anything?????
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
I wonder if this album will be as good as their old stuff. I'll have to check it out when it's released. As for Barry White, I haven't heard anything about him in a while.
Good to see them being back again. Actually their last album "In The Name Of Of Love" (1997) was OK even though it was left unnoticed by most people.
Glad to hear that Maurice White is still involved despite of his condition - however, I do not expect another "All N All" & "I Am".
Marky...what's wrong with Barry?? Apparantly this has never hit danish shores - please enlighten me..
The last few LP's have been very AOR and ballad orientated - we can hope!
Leather is the way forward!
E,W&F toured Argentina around 1998 and sucked, according to friends who saw them (neither of them funk-disco fans, anyway). I couldn't go to the concert. There was word at least half the band were younger replacements to old members.
The band in full glory came to Brazil and Argentina in 1980 and did amazing concerts, according to all kinds of people who were there. There was even a LP released for the occassion called "E,W&F Live in Argentina" which I thought was a rarity until I went to Brazil and found the same album in CD but with the title "E,W&F Live in Brazil". Oops! :o Promo reasons, probably...
K-Bee: Barry White is waiting in line for a liver transplant. See separate thread from some months ago.
It don't mean a thing (if ain't got that swing)
