    Any "Solid Gold" Fans?

I loved Solid Gold and especially the opening number when the host would come out during the break.

I have good memories of watching Solid Gold back in the '80s on Ch. 11 (WPIX) in NY on Sunday nights. It was usually followed by Lifestyles Of The Rich & Famous. I remember Darcel, one of the dancers with the last name Sellers (I think they were a brother-and-sister; I know they appeared in Lionel Richie's "All Night Long" video and I think they were on Star Search in its first season (1983) ), and Marilyn McCoo, Dionne Wawrick, Andy Gibb and Rex Smith.

My (older) brother and I used to watch "Solid Gold" religiously. He would watch for the scantily-clad Solid Gold dancers. I'd watch for the countdown to the week's #1 record, and of course, any and all glimpses of Andy Gibb ! LOL.:icon_lol:

Yes I use to watch it every week. It was a good show in its time. Preferred American Bandstand and Soul Train, but Saturday nights it was Solid Gold and Madame's Place.

I remember a few shows were occasionally broadcasted on European networks. They had some beautiful dancing ladies in their team.

I like the part where the ladies dance to Ray Parker's "A Woman Needs Love"... very sexy.

Ah, the 80's!!! When big hair, & Jeri Curls ruled the world!!! I'm glad you've mentioned Darcel, with her thick ***!!! Lord Have Mercy, I wanted to jump through the TV screen and attack that woman whenever she was on!!!

Boy, if she makes love the way she used to shake her hips, I'd probably need a Chiropractor when I'm through!!!
