Lean,
It's "Murphy's Law" by Cheri (a Canadian female duo)--a #1 dance hit in 1982.
Hi folks! Had to clear my head after that Long post of mine got blown away!
Here's one I'm sure you'll all know, but I don't. Please name artist, title and year and anything else you might know about them.
The chorus (in chipmunk) says: "Got it all together don't ya baby." A few notes and then what sounds like a female voice says "Sho out to get ya!"
I heard this the other day but missed the info!
Thanks!

"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
The name of the track with the words in "chipmunkese" you're after is "MURPHY'S LAW"
by CHERI on Vanguard records (and re-printed on Unidisc) 1982 produced by the never forgotten Geraldine HUNT!!!
Apparently the famous chorus on original was recorded at original speed/frequency and one night working in studio the engineer had one joint too much and programmed the backing vocals Revox at double speed for mistakes, the result was so funny that after kept entertained the studio for days, Geraldine Hunt and Freddi Jackson decided to keep it as that for the released version.

I don't love you no more

Hey Mr. Pecs,

Thanks guys! Now I'm curious - what do Geraldine Hunt and Freddi Jackson have to do with this?

I think BMP meant to say Freddie James and not Freddie Jackson. Freddie James (Get up and Boogie) was the son of Geraldine Hunt.

OK, OK, I'm here beating my (HUGE!!!!!) chest ( a bit of self-promotion is never out of place!!!!!), chanting MEA CULPA MEA CULPA MEA MAXIMA CULPA, because of the Freddie-James/Jackson "Lapsus Linguae", I stand corrected!!!!!!!

That's one of my favorites...it was such a fun song. :P
Then they came out with another song which was the same
as the first "MURPHY'S LAW" but called "MURPHY'S JIVE LAW". It was ok but the first song was better. This song had different words and was a "hair faster". Still had those "chipmunks" :) The record label was "VENTURE RECORDS". Good song....![]()
