Loni, there's a lot of new stuff coming out that tries to sound like Disco but...this is good, VERY GOOD and I ain't just saying this to please you and Rick, I mean that :icon_lol:
Hi all...
First of all, I feel this need to apologize. I joined Disco Music.com in December, then took an abrupt absence. Just wanted everyone to know it was not by choice. I was hit with a computer virus on January 1st which necessitated a hard drive reformat and a LOT of tweaking afterwards (just got the sound to work this past week). In a word............ "UHG!!!!"
With that said......... I've missed being here and reading all of the great posts. I have a lot ot catch up on.
Now, on to the request..............
Rick has written, performed and produced a great new song called "Let's Dance Again." I'd love to get some feedback from some REAL music fans, so if you get a chance, stop by and take a listen and look and let me know (either here or on YouTube) what you think of the song.

We're considering pitching the song to Ellen Degeneres to use as her opening theme song for the Fall Season, and we're trying to gauge whether or not it has legs for that too.
Thanks to everyone in advance for your feedback!
Cheers,
Loni

Thanks Videoskooter --- will definitely pass that on to Rick. One of the things that irritates the heck out of him is how so many artists try to make computers front and center of everything that they create, completely fogetting about the honesty and LIFE that is in REAL music coming out of REAL instruments. Synthetic music at best --- with artists becoming synthetic in their live performances. Is that what the public wants to pay for? I don't think so. That may be another reason vinyl is coming back in a big way. Rick says, "There is life in the grooves" --- not so much in a CD or download. The sound just sits on top of the disk, but in the grooves of the vinyl.... now THERE'S some sound!!! Anyway, maybe that's what you're picking up on in the song. No over-the-top production that just makes noise for noise sake, but some real, honest grooves. We're hoping Ellen has that respect for the music (we "think" she's a fan of the past music) --- but at any rate, 'it's got a beat and you can dance to it!' LOL!!!![]()
Loni,
I can definitely hear the bassline to Jimmy "Bo" Horne's "Spank" and even a little hint of George McCrae on there as Rick was involved on all those classics. Great music and thanks for letting us hear it.

It's a winner!
with some definite Sunshine Band peaking thru in there !
I think it has a theme feel to it and I can visualize Ellen "dancing" to it as only she can!
And I'm thinking she's the kind of person who'd rightfully treasure using a song penned by legendary Rick Finch as her theme .
Now .....if only there's some way to get KC's voice on it too! :icon_biggrin::icon_cool:
I can hear him using his softer toned singing style (as in --- be it early morn , late after noon ...at midnight ... it's never to soon ) and applying it to this groove:
She's Ellen ......She's Ellen
I like it ......She's Ellen ........
