I haven't heard much about this singer, who sung some classic French disco songs, in French, unlike Cerrone, who though awesome had his songs sung in English.

Anybody own some Dalida records from that time?

I absolutely love Dalida and she did release some disco tracks during the 70's (Laissez-moi danser/Gigi in Paradisco/J'attendrai) but after her passing ; her brother Orlando managed to release at least 5 dance albums and they are wonderful & campy at the same time.

Cerrone even remixed Laissez-moi danser on one of them.

They are :
1- Comme si j'etais la [1996]
2- A ma maniere [1996]
3- L'an 2005 [1997]
4- Dalida revolution [2001]
5- The Queen [2005]

Some feature the same tracks but remixed by different DJs.

Dalida (RIP) remains a national institution in France. Check also her Mourir Sur Scene, Femme Est La Nuit, Generation 78 (The full album versions spread over the two sides, not the shorter 12" or the 7". Note the versions realesed on cds are edited and useless, just like the cd versions of Gigi in Paradisco, her marathon disco opus), Problemorama, Besame Mucho (disco) Let Me Dance Tonight ( Laissez...in English), Rio Do Brasil, and Americana (yes, the Costandinos tune). There's a very good 2-dvd "Dalida Eternelle", too.

I like Laisses-moi Danser and Generation 78 a lot

and while Soleil Soleil, and Mourir Sur Scene are more of an 80's chanson, I like those songs a lot too. They have such great melodies combined with wonderful vocals.
