Bernie do you want us to post them here or send them to you?
Hi all,
DiscoMusic.com member, MixMasterMax has kindly offered to assemble a DiscoMusic.com tribute video of sorts. Some of the things he'll need from members are your top three (or five) Disco songs and perhaps some catchy phrase(s) that best sums up Disco for you that can be included in the video. Also feel free to attach any Disco related photos of you and/or a disco era personality that you wouldn't mind being used in the video.
I'll start it off with...
Favorite Disco songs:
1. Front Page: Love Insurance
2. Love and Kisses: I've Found Love
3. El Coco: Cocomotion
Catchy phrase or quote:
"You Can't Kill the Beat"
"Disco, the roots of House, Rap and today's dance music"
While photos are completely optional, I'll attach some below.
Let's get 'em rolling folks!
A big thank you to MixMasterMax for offering to do this.

It was easy for me offer to do this as I truly enjoy making the videos and appreciate what Bernie and discmusic.com offer and mean to Disco Dance music like having such a vast reference available at a click of the mouse.
What I offered to do is create a video that highlights not only the Disco era in terms of the music, relevant pictures and phrases that are associated with the Disco era but also discomusic.com which I and many others visit regularly and use as the single point of reference for the Disco era. Bernie and I could have easily picked the music and added some pictures to a video but it would be more meaningful if everyone had a chance to pick the music and provide visual aids. At this point I must say that all pictures, graphics and other materials provided may be used in the video and by providing this material you agree to this.
It would be great if you could provide the year of the tracks you mention. I would hate to end up with all the songs being released in the same year. The idea is to include music that is representative of the Disco year(s). I almost added the years I believe are Disco years but that would turn this thread in another direction.
Please provide the track names here (include year) and send Bernie the visual aids so he can place the discomusic.com logo on them prior to use in the video.
Truly appreciated,
Max

Sorry about not mentioning where to send photos. Do NOT post photos here... instead upload them with names, descriptions... at:
Upload Photos and Record Label/Cover Art: DiscoMusic.com
so this way I can cull them and give them to Max.
Of course, the list of songs can be posted here for all to see.

My top 3:
1) I Want Your Love - Chic (1978)
2) The Boss - diana Ross (1979)
3) Spacer - Sheila & B Devotion (1979)
Phrase: "Boys will be boys, better let them have their toys!"
my 3 desert island discs
1.mainline black ivory
2.over and over sylvester
3.hooked on you cerrone
My Top Five:
1) I FEEL LOVE - Donna Summer (1977)
2) CHERCHEZ LA FEMME - Dr. Buzzard's Original Savannah Band (1976)
3) THIS WILL BE A NIGHT TO REMEMBER - Eddie Holman (1977)
4) WAS THAT ALL IT WAS - Jean Carn (1979)
5) THIS TIME BABY - Jackie Moore (1979)
Fave Phrase:
(in honor of the late JeffH.....it was his catchphrase here)
"it's a once in a lifetime feeling that returns every week"
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
No surprises coming from my side:
1. Cerrone: "Love In c Minor" 1976 > No, it was not the cover that brought this one to my attention, it was the symphonic sound and the erotic soundscape that struck me.
2. Donna Summer: "Love To Love You Baby" 1975 > The same reason, I met Donna as a very young kid when she still did Pop, heard about the new record and couldn't believe my ears when all that moaning bumped out of the speakers. That and the phenomenal and groundbreaking orchestration.
3. Munich Machine: "Get On The Funk Train" 1977 > The Bass, that intro, from the 1st seconds this hits you right into the stomach!
4. Boney M.: "Baby Do You Wanna Bump" 1975 > Boney M. when Boney still delivered that phat German Discosound. I can't sit still on that one!
5. Sylvester: "Stars" 1979 > This was something new! "Disco Heat" was not very well played over here. "You Make Me Feel" was a big hit but "Stars" was a journey into Cyberdisco. I mean, the clear and high vocals of Sylvester and then that Cowley odyssey, that 'lectric combination of spacey beats and violins. Awesome track (however "Body Strong" is also a favourite)
Favourite Disco years: '77-'78
Catchphrase: "Disco Is Where The Happy People Go"
Now it should be complete....
This is a great selection. Thanks to all who contributed. As you know youtube has a 10 minute video limit so it will be hard selecting from the list below. I hope I got them all listed.

Stephen,
My Pattie Brooks 12" has the infamous flaw where it sounds as though the tape got temporarily stuck. I seem to remember you discussing this issue, but I couldn't find the thread. Did you mention that there are some pressings without this problem? And how do they differ from the ones with the error?
Thanks for your help!
Barry
