Vince Aletti - The Disco Files

Hello there. Not posted on here for ages, so apologies for the slight promotional element to this post, but I thought you guys on here might be interested.

We're publishing a book, Disco Files 1973-1978 by Vince Aletti, which collects together all of his writing on disco as well as his weekly columns for Record World from 1974-1978, so it's a mixture of articles, interviews etc alongside reviews. It's being published by DJHistory.com.

We've produced a PDF that you can download to give you an idea of the design and content. The link is here:
Send big files the easy way. Files too large for email attachments? No problem!

The older people on here will remember Vince as being the first person to write about disco back in 1973 and was a keen documenter of the scene, before eventually going to work with Ray Caviano at RFC. Anyhow, hope you enjoy reading it.

Yes, I was thinking this yesterday after reading the excerpt that was linked above. Great reading which definitely whetted my appettite to get the actual book when published. Any idea when we can expect this to be released?

Thanks for so many kind words of encouragement. All being well, it will be in stores by the end of April. For those of you living in the US and Canada, we are in the process of securing distribution for it there as we speak. We may well even do some kind of launch party for it in New York. Will keep you posted on developments and thanks for the interest.
