I found good stuff at the used record store

today. "Disc Charge" by the Boys Town Gang ($3.95) and "All I Need" by Sylvester, "Fusion Presents the Album "Menergy" and "Paris Connection", produced by Costandinos, all for a buck each.

Great finds. Especially ALL I NEED. Worth having for the un-retitled cover. And every song on it is good.

I love stores like that!!! I found a copy of the "Tender is the Night" album by THP, and Linda Clifford's album with "Runaway Love" on it. Both original copies, and never been opened!!! Both for a $1.00 as well.

It just goes to show you that, some people just don't know what they're missing!!!

I agree, and when I listen to it, I often wonder why writer/producer "Tip" Wirrick never got anywhere near the kind of recognition or credit that Patrick Cowley got. I thought his compositions were just (or nearly) as good, his production style was very similar to Cowley's, and he was a master musician.

You're right. Great musician. And Be With You and Don't Stop are so addictive. But the mid-tempo numbers are good too. He could create more than just hi-energy.

by the way, who did the original version of "Disco Kicks"? When I play this Boys Town Gang version, it seems I've heard the song before.

There was a discussion here about that a few years ago:
