Recently I received my copy of the French 'Funky Collector' CD series and for the first time I heard the Dayton track 'Meet the man' . Never heard it before and I love it. It has that classy touch of the Change / Chic sound.... :P
But what surprised me most is that Melba Moore is singing a few lines. That voice can only be hers. Does anybody have the album and can confirm it is really her ?
Did she sing on more Dayton songs ?
Karl
I can't answer you're qustion off the top of my head, but I will check the LP when I'm next with my records to see if she gets a mention.
Has anyone else noticed the similiarity between "Meet the Man" and BB&Q Band "Time For Love"? They are too close to be coinsidence. I think BB&Q is a year or so earlier. It's strange to think of people ripping stuff off then.
The other Dayton track I love is "Eyes on You", from their first LP.
Leather is the way forward!

Amazing, Leatherman. When I saw the title of this message I was going to post the exact same response - namely, that it was so similar to BB&Q's "Time For Love".
But I'll do it anyway. That makes at least two of us who noticed!
Haven't got a clue about Melba singing on it though...
The Melba-esque warbling is delivered by either Jennifer Matthews of Rachel Beavers (nice name) - both of whom are household names the world over! Now, whoever has the rumoured 12", step forward!
