Any ideas what this would cost me for a copy of the vinyl edition? I'm assuming it did not reappear again on vinyl besides the original issue. Anyone selling their second copy?

Never heard of a reissue of this Disconet, I keep an eye on Ebay prices and download many closed auctions for reference purposes (and pictures), I am yet to see the first “if you could read my mind” Disconet (but maybe I missed it), most Disconets sold between $25.00 and $50.00, but Viola’s was hard to come by even back when it was released, it was a very popular mix, if it ever shows up on Ebay expect hard core collectors to pay top dollar.

Actually, after I posted I ordered a Dutch re-issue (1980) off of GEMM which claims to contain the Disconet remix. Don't know if it is the full 13 minutes or an edit. We shall see. There were other copies available on there if anyone is interested.

    Hi littlemartin,

the original Disconet Mix is 13:09 and the "Disconet Version" on my commercial 12"-Single (German pressing) is only 12:00.

I think the full remix version is onyl with Disconet published.

I sell the commercial 12"-Single on my web-site.

I have that Dutch release, which was actually a flip-side to Stormy Wheather if I remember correctly. I would have to check at home...

"If You Could Read My Mind" by Viola Wills, remixed by Peter D. Struve was released twice by Disconet. First on volume 3 Issue 10 (sometime in early 1980) and then repressed on Volume 7 Issue Program 13 (about August 1985). Both times the 13:09 version was pressed.

I learn something new everyday on this board, I didn’t know Disconet mixes were licensed and released abroad by other labels, are this reissues “bootlegs” or legit? as far as I know Disconet was a DJ subscription service only, not even allowed to sell retail, the only reason I have a few of them is because some extra copies were sold in Record Pools to those that asked.

Anyways, I’m glad this mix still is available, it is certainly one of my favorite disconets.

Maarten, Is the “Stormy Weather” on the flip side the Disconet remix too?

The Viola mix I want is the one of her singing "Over the rainbow" that she did at the Saint. The mix on that crap album (sorry Viola!) when she was Viola Yousef or somethin' was nothing compared to the Saint version.
Sixty minutes is nothing special (but it\'s all the world to me)

Just received my import copy on Hansa (I think, don't have it in front of me - Dutch or German). It is identical to the Disconet mix except it trims off the percussive outro and clocks in at slightly less than 12 minutes. Will certainly suffice while I keep my eye open for the original(s). I was concerned that they edited the body or intro of the track and they didn't thankfully. Pressed at 45rpm, so I'm sure the Disconet pressing is probably better quality.
