    Best From Artist 36 - PARLIAMENT/FUNKADELIC

Oops. Sorry I'm a little late with this topic but "I've been busy."
Well I selected these guys because I wanted to funk things up a little.
I really do like "One Nation Under A Groove" and it's probably my choice for best. I hedge a little here because I hear and play that song a lot. So for something completely different (I'm really doin' up the cliches today), I'll also put up there as another favorite "Mothership Connection (Star Child)."

Gosh! All I know is that there has to be more George Clinton CDs out there than almost anyone else.
    A few faves are:
One Nation ( a given really)
    P. Funk (wants to get funked up)
Tear The Roof off the Sucker
    Up For The Down Stroke
    Flashlight

Looks like I liked Parliament more than Funkadelic, eh?

Funkadelic: "I Wanna Know If It's Good To You", from waaay back-in-the-day. Psychedelic soul before I even knew there was such a thing. :)

I like "FlashLight" and "Knee Deep(Freak of Da week)".
    "Atomic Dog" is okay.

Hey forrrce, I'm glad you mentioned 'Standing On The Verge Of Getting It On'. I like that one too and forgot all about it.

I´ll add two more not mentioned here: "Rumpfoltiltskin" and "Agony of defeet", both from their last period. Dunno about the spelling... :-?
P-Funk in general was great, although I think it was not really played at disco places, at least in my city. What was your experience?
It don't mean a thing (if ain't got that swing)

Tear The Roof Off the Sucker and "One Nation Under A Groove" were the two most frequently played songs at the discos in Boston.

I agree with a few others here; '(Not Just) Knee Deep' is easily the best Funkadelic track for me. A very influential track I think & it set the standard for early 80's funk as a whole. Much better than 'One Nation....'
    ...ya gotta beat the street......
