    Eartha Kitt another legend gone

Eartha Kitt passed away Thursday Dec. 25th 2008 of colon cancer. I remember seeing her here in Toronto at the disco Stages were she performed live back in the 80's. When here performance was over she stuck around and partied with all the boys. It was a night I'll never forget. Here's a link:

Thanks for info. I always admired her very long and versatile career in showbiz. It is most impressive to me that she released in circa 1960 ''Sho-Jo-Ji, '' a unique cover version of Japanese nursery rhyme.

And of course, as a 80s disco fan, her dance tunes like ''Where is My Man'' and ''I Love Men'' (very melodious!) were my favorites. I used to buy the 12 inchers of them quickly after release and dance ardently to them at disco.

    May she rest in peace.

It's so weird 'cos I played one of her CDs while we were eating our Xmas lunch & I didn't plan to, it was just the first CD that came to hand that contained a 'Xmassy' track ('Santa Baby'). It's almost exactly 20 years since I saw her perform 'Im Still Here' & 'Cha Cha Heels' in a gay club here in Manchester too.:icon_confused:

I'm glad I'm not the only one who remembers "Where Is My Man".

"I don't want to be alone, where is my baby? I don't want to be alone, where is my man?"

Yep, another legend and Grand Dame gone, not to mention Disco Diva; if we live to see it, look for more of them, both male and female, to fall by the wayside and leave this planet in the next 10 years or so.
