Finally yesterday I received a record buyed through the net and ... surprise it was bandy on the edge for about 2" !! due to a bad handling from the post offices!!
But no problem! I took the hairdryer, I put the hot flow on the part and after 2 minutes.... voilà the record went back perfectly plane.
Any of you had the same?!? :)

Hi Massimo - no I have not tried this before, but I will try it on my Martin Circus - Disco Circus album. This is a red transparent vinyl version, and I once put a little curve in it because I had rested my record bag in the back of my VW Beetle on the transmission tunnel. Oops-.-
My only worry is that I will ruin it even further... How did you bend it straight - after heating it did you put it between two heavy books or something like that?
Ciao!

Hi Maarten! No, I didn't put it between two weights. It just came back straight by itself. No additional load necessary on it. But pay attention: if you will put hot flow for a long time may be you will ruin definitely the surface. I advice to put hot flow for not more than 15 seconds and check the planarity, then do it again for another 15 seconds if the planarity is not still good. Let me know if you're successful.Originally Written by maarten
