    Hot Production's Cds ???

    Hi,

First post here, A question for anyone in the know. Has The HOT Production's label gone out of business? Some of their stuff is getting harder to find and I have not noticed anything new from them in quite some time.

Any other Disco Classic labels-CD's out there worth searching for? I wish that they would probe into the Emergency Records catalog (Electric Mind) Another Label that had a lot of good dance was SIRE, would Love to see Tom Tom Club's second album on CD, along with Girls Can't Help It, NV, Break Machine, Fuzz Dance (EP).
Also be good to get these other Artist on CD Was (Not Was),Adele Bertei, Sweet Pea Atkinson,The Quick,Chas Jankel, North End, 52nd Street, Melody Stewart and on and on. Ok I will stop blabbing.

Welcome FireNightDance, First of all.........cool name.
Anyway, I'm not sure if Hot Productions have gone out of business. I have their catalog that I use to buy from. If you don't have their address it's 1450 N.W. 159th Street Miami, Florida 33169. The catalog is full of CDs of classic disco, but I haven't purchased anything from them in a long time.To be honest I found lots of their CDs on the internet cheaper. Try Amazon and in the search type in...
THE BEST OF or THE DEFINITIVE 12' COLLECTION or GAY CLASSICS or THE BEST DISCO IN TOWN, this should bring up all kinds of albums from Hot productions. If that don't work e-mail them at hotdisco@aol.com or even call them at {305} 625-6545, If they're still in business, like I said, it's been awhile since I've delt with them. Hope this helps you. 8)

    Hot Productions

    Hi,

Hot Productions was bought 1999 of the German "Jack White Productions AG" (http://www.jack-white.de) and the new name is "HoT JWP Records". Jack White was in early 80s producer of Laura Branigan, David Hasselhoff and other. Since the takeover are however only few CD were published.
A sub-company of HoT JWP is "Deep Dish Music" (http://www.deepdishmusic.com), CEO is Paul Klein.

PS: The concept for Jack White's website relaunch is from me :)

Hi FND. I sent away to Miami for Hot Productions info but had nothing back & I assumed they were no more, so its intersting to read Steffen's reply.

I so agree that CD releases of The Quick & Chaz Jankel's material would be really cool.(as in sharks, not jets! :P )

Thanks Guys for all the responses. I guess that answers my question on Hot Productions.
At this point in my dance music searching, I find there is always one song I've got to have on cd, but the asking prices are always so high. Either that or I have the other songs or do not want them.

That's why I wish more CD's would be label specific. For example two songs I would love to get my mitts on our SHE CAN'T LOVE YOU/CHEMISE and PICK ME UP/ELECTRIC MIND. I could be wrong but I think Chemise was on Emergency. Anyhow a compilation on Emergency would help that situation, as I love a lot of the other stuff on the label.
Wish the majors would dig in their archives too. Ariola-America stuff would be fun, all that forgotten stuff, Ann-Margaret, Sabu, Chanson and well the beat goes on... :P

There was a very nice Emergency Records compilation on CD many, many years ago. Just dug the CD out and the title is "Avanti - A Collection of Emergency Classics." It is long out of print and very difficult to find, but worth the effort since all songs are the full extended versions.

    Here's the tracklisting...

    01. On the Upside - Xena
    02. In the Bottle - C. O. D.
    03. Funky Be-Bop - Vin Zee
    04. Memories - Carolyn Harding
    05. Our Trade Is Life - Firefly
    06. If This Ain't Love - Jay Novelle
    07. Happy Days - Michelle Wallace
    08. Movin' On - Carolyn harding
    09. She Can't Love You - Chemise
    10. Tequila - Bo Boss

I've sworn off Hot Productions CDs, after getting burned on Amii Stewart and Ultimate discs -- both consisting of piss-poor vinyl transfers, which were then brutally compressed and heavily EQ'd on top of that. The "from the master tapes" bit on these discs is an outright lie. Some of Hot's releases are okay, but since there's no way to tell beforehand, and they're not cheap, I'm not taking the gamble anymore.

I don't see the point in spending $30 on a CD, with a blurry cover, no liner notes, and terrible sound, when a $3 vinyl copy sounds far superior. And I'm not an analog enthusiast either...

    Chemise

Chemise "She Can't Love You" (5:09) is also published on Unidisc CD "Star-Funk Vol. 1".

I think i did the quote right lol, ill soon find out...anyway, I do agree about the vinyl transfers and not original master tapes on alot of tracks on The Best Disco In Town vols 2 and 3. However, the Best Of series they had put out in the past actually were true from the master tapes that I have. I got Jumbo and Rod for those and the quality is pure CD from the master. On The Best Disco In Town 2 and 3 compilations about 80 % of those tracks are not avalible on CD anywhere so a good chance that the mastertapes were no where to be found. Sucks they are all single versions and some its either import edits or Hot Production's own edits but I think vol 2 and 3 are gems regaurdless cause of the true underground and obscure classics they put on those volumes.
