My dream would be to see Victim performed by Candi Staton

Lipps Inc. - Funky town
Hi, I'm asking all you disco fans to help me out for a quick second. I'm a night club entertainer and myself and the rest of the cast members are planning to throw our club's first annual Disco night. What songs do you think we should do? I figured the best way to see what a group of strangers would like to see is to ask a group of strangers. Just reply with about 4 or 5 of your favorite songs and we will look them over and maybe perform them.
Thanks
Ronnie
Ps. The cast is complied of lots of men and women...so do be afraid to post just all women songs or all men. Thanks again.

I\'m a Victim ( of th very Song I sing )
Are you talking about a live band here? As it might not be a good idea to try and mount a performance based on "Roma" as originally recorded by Dschinghis Khan, with all the needed live camels, stallions, slave girl dance troupes and gladiator fight scenes, I'll say do "Jungle Fever" the Chakachas fave as the opener. That'll get them moving and grinding and into the spirit of things. After this launch into a sultry "Love To Love You Baby", and on to a somewhat slowed down version of the Intruder's classic "I'll Always Love My Momma". By this time your audiences should be ready for "Disco Inferno". Remember electric guitar solos and Disco do not match.
Assuming we're talking about a live peformance, I guess it all comes down to what the various vocalist involved in the show are capaple of technically.
There's no point in doing, say, EWF's fantasy without a singer who's able to do the falsetto parts of the song.
That's also the case for covers of classic "dicso diva" like performances such as Cheryl Lynn's "Got To be Real".
Unless there are some outstanding vocalist available who are able to copy the styles of the stars, I'd say stick to the typical crowd pleasers. (The likes of Thelma Houston, Candy Staton (I know you'll be mad at me know Com King)
Tavares and Village People)
The cast performing these songs are not live performers. They are lip singers...they mouth the words to songs and dress in various costumes. The Disco night is going to be an hour to over an hour show and a dance party to Disco music. The audience is also allowed to dress for the era. So there is no ties to what can not be performed based on vocal skills.
I would love to see a live performance of My Neck, My Back by Khia. Just imagine the choreography
