Please help me ID this song. I usually hear it on R&B stations during their disco programming so it's fairly common. It sounds like it comes from the Studio 54 era and it is sung by a woman with a pretty high pitched voice. Unfortunately the lyrics are either so generic or unintelligible that I haven't been able to find it. It sounds something like this:
Uh huh uh huh yeah
Uh huh uh huh yeah
Do you want me?
You know I want you too
Do you need me?
You know I need you too
I really want you
Refrain:
How do you like it with my love?
How do you like it with my love?
I could be totally off with the lyrics but maybe somebody here has an idea! Thanks BF:icon_biggrin:
thanks for trying but unfortunately it's not either of those songs. it's older, definitely a 70s synthesizer beat sort of a slow grinding start and then a cheesy riff after the refrain. as i said the lyrics are so ubiquitous that it's really hard to identify. i had it on a mix cd that i lost years ago but i heard it on the radio this weekend.
Almost reminds me a bit of "Here Comes That Sound" by Love Deluxe >>> Love Deluxe with Hawkshaw's Discophonia Here Comes That Sound (LP) Disco Music.com

that's closer but not quite it. the song has more of a funk or R&B vibe (but it's definitely disco) and probably not as obscure i've heard it many times on the radio and on other mixes. the vocalist is a strong singer but in the high range
Reading the lyrics - I couldn't help but think of More More More by Andrea True Connection - But it's such a well-known hit that it possibly can't be it ??
KRIS
thanks for replying it's not More, More, More. the singer is clearly a pro singer, not a pro porn star, and i would go as far to say she sounds "black". the music is more funky than More More More. if i can make a passable recording (i took voice lessons once) I will try to post it when I get out of the office.
the mix that my friend gave me had "forget me nots" and "love come down" on it so think those type of disco songs. i sent him an email to send me the playlist but haven't heard back yet :icon_confused:
You mentioned Evelyn King & Patrice Rushen as in this time frame and say the record is popular enough to still be played on the radio...this is the Top 50 from 1982..... anything on here a possibility???? :icon_eek:

Baby, take me
high upon a hillside
high up where the stallion
meets the sun
thanks everyone for their help unfortunately we haven't found it yet! this is very frustrating and especially so since i can't figure out how to record vocals on my computer. remicks is right the song is probably a little later than studio 54 but i associate it with that era b/c i was too young to party in the disco days (it was hip hop, house and freestyle for me).
hopefully i'll hear it again this weekend and get a better grasp of the lyrics or my friend who gave me the disc will respond...
I know EXACTLY what you are talking about....but don't know the name or artist either. I just saw a clip from the Ellen Degeneres show where she was dancing to the song on her show. I have been on the phone with everyone I know tonight trying to figure this out myself....now online and saw this old thread about it. Did you ever find out who it is?
If you remember the date it was on Ellen, search for a youtube of that show with her dancing?
