DISCO/CO - Cold Coke
:icon_biggrin:
.. apparently recorded by a group of European session musicians back in '79 .. this tune got used on various backing tracks & commercials .. but shamefully never received a proper release .. until now .. this will become a surefire collectors item .. buy it while you can ..

DISCO/CO - Cold Coke
Have to say I first heard this track on one of the many disco blogs - got my copy from Juno last week and can't stop playing it - I am not convinced it was made all those years ago - anything this good can't have been overlooked for soooo long - to describe this tune - think Jazz Carnival but with a much more funkier vibe....the instruments used are more synth base it starts very Herbie Hancockish like the begining To Tell Everybody then builds with guitar and a synth based Rhodes - my suspicion that this is not a track recorded BITD is that the production on it is amazing - the musicians are just too tight!! It reminds me of a track recorded in the 90's which was on Street Jazz Volume 3. Also the synth progranmming is just too good - everyone was using Rolands or Prophet V's back then - the Rhodes voice is again just that too good to be from back then!
Having said that - it is a fabulous track and would LOVE to be told that it is an actual track from back then!!

I agree. It's a great track, but the electric piano and some of the synths sound suspiciously like software.
There were very few synths that could play chords in those days, and the few that existed were *very* expensive.

OMG, so you discovered the Cold Coke?
It's a track that was originally written by Marc Chantereau and Slim Pezin (Voyage). The reason why this sounds so "recent"? The track is revamped by Italian DJ Daniele "Baia Dell' Angeli" Baldelli, like stated correctly in the Juno Link. The original groove however is from 1979 but was never officially released.
Somebody send me a copy from the original tape 6 years ago.
I also have heard the '1979' version as well as the re-edit rom the new vinyl. If that was originally recorded in that year then it is the best produced record of that year...brilliant!
