The Supremes did it first and had the most success with it ....
#1 on Billboard's Hot 100 in July of 1964 ....
a Motown monumental moment :
The Supremes WHERE DID OUR LOVE GO
Donnie Elbert gave it a nuanced enough twist to chart it again in 1971 .... reaching #15 on Billboard's Hot 100 in November.
Donnie Elbert WHERE DID OUR LOVE GO
Then the song went dormant chart-wise for a decade until Soft Cell once again put a fresh coat of paint on it ..... ( #8 Billboard Hot 100 Aug. 82)
Soft Cell WHERE DID OUR LOVE GO
Those are the only three versions (of many) to make it to the charts.
I'm rather partial to this one ... but it never charted .....
Manhattan Transfer WHERE DID OUR LOVE GO

I like that (not as much as the original, but I like it). And did you know that the Manhattan Transfer did 2 more Motown covers ("I Second That Emotion" and "Too Busy Thinking About My Baby") on their fun tribute album called "Tonin'"? They got Smokey Robinson to re-do his vocal and Phil Collins to do Marvin Gaye's. But I love the album, their vocal blend is one of the most unique I've heard.
