Unusal songs on a disco compilation

With my recent purchase of a couple of disco compilations on CD, I was thinking back to my old 70's K-Tel disco comps and here's the question:

Are there any tracks on a disco compilation that didn't seem like it should be there?

    My examples:
On Disco Motion ('76): Love Hurts-Jim Capaldi
Funky Disco ('77): Kiss & Say Goodbye-The Manhattans, I Feel A Song (In My Heart)-Gladys Knight & The Pips, We Do It-R & J Stone.
Disco Dazzler (78) If You Can't Give Me Love-Suzi Quatro, Float On-The Floaters, Baby Hold On-Eddie Money

Usually the misplaced tracks are more pop/rock or are ballads.

    Hi Disco Hunter,

I think there are tons of examples of that in vinyl. I remember a local compilation series by WEA called "Vibraciones". On Volume 2, one side began with The B-52's ("Planet Claire"), then segued into Sergio Mendes, then into Fern Kinney ("Let me kiss you babe"), then into Chic's "My feet keep dancing". Strange, from a 2003 point of view...
It don't mean a thing (if ain't got that swing)

I think that shows you how far the disco net spread. A middle-of-the-road marketing strategy would include completely irrelevant music for the not so hip 'wally' faction. No doubt big at bingo halls and school discos.

I bought an LP called Deep Underground Disco from NYC. It features material from Salsoul Orchestra, Players Association, Rainbow Brown and Billy Frazier alongside Shakin Stevens, Tommy Steele and duo Hinge & Bracket. There is even some classical music on there. The thing is it really works well together and creates a very unusal soundscape. The mix between "This Old House" and "Ride the Groove" is truly inspirational.

I think there should be more disco LP's with un disco tracks on them. Maybe, even no disco at all. I have a disco LP like this called Countrys Greatest Hits - that has some fat **** on it bro!

Does anyone else on here wear a bra when they are posting?
    Leather is the way forward!
