Yes we did!
Congrats!:icon_mrgreen:
I hope his opposition on the right treats him with more respect than W's opposition on the left treated him, which was disgracefull.
And to add to my comments. The democRats no longer have George W. Bush to kick around. He has managed to dump everything he's f**ked up and they've been screeding about right into their laps. Now they have to prove that they can clean up the republicans' mess and that they are fit to govern. The democRats were kicked out of power in 1994 when they felt their leftist agenda was more important than Bill Clinton's move to the center. That same potential exists today - left wing nincompoops like Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are more interested in pushing their liberal agenda than they are in advancing Prez Obama's attemtps at governing the USA. His margin of victory is only 52% to 48% - hardly a mandate. If Iraq takes a turn for the worse, Afghanistan continues to deteriorate and the economy gets worse the democRats will lose control of the Congress in two years - they have to deliver on peace and prosperity - if they don't they're gone.
The republicans deserved to lose. They have governed exceptionally poorly these past 8 years.
As for me; I voted for Ralph Nader here in Florida a week ago this past Saturday...
That's some "sour grapes" you're carrying around there.
You seem to be doing a little "screeding" yourself.
Forget to take your meds again?
Not at all just my reflections on yesterday's election and political reality that Prez Obama faces.
Christ, can't anyone have a half way decent political conversation on this BB or do we all have to subcribe to liberal orthodoxy?
You're the one who threw the mud.
Don't be surprised when the dirt gets tossed back in your eyes.
And anyone who does not know how left Ralph Nader is........?
Here we go...I wasn't throwing mud.:icon_twisted:
I know exactly who Ralph Nader is and what his positions are.
You disagree with my comments?
Why?
What I disagree with is your ranting and tirade against "left wing nincompoops" and "democRats". You accused them of lacking respect and then turned around and did the same thing. And I noticed you did not refer to republicans with the same disdain.
And next, you asked why there wasn't a "half way decent political conversation" on this board.
I'm not going to carry on this debate. Why? For one, because I truly have no interest in debating with you.
And two, because the debate is over.
For now.
"The republicans deserved to lose. They have governed exceptionally poorly these past 8 years." is not disdainfull enough for your taste.
Good bye.
and I am ESTATIC~!!!!!!!!!!!
I was at a very culturally mixed pub when the announcement was made and it was very moving to see all different ethnic groups come together and celebrate..people were crying and joyous..
There were a couple of McClain fans but they were very civil and accepted the new president elect with class![]()
I'm so pleased for you Americans. At last you have a president who seems charismatic and intelligent with integrity and fabulous looks! And he seems to have slightly socialist policies: the perfect man IMO & so much better than the twonks you usually get saddled with!![]()
...ya gotta beat the street......
And behold: America is suddenly seen as an interesting, happening place after a very long dark period during which we basically shrugged our shoulders and looked elsewhere. A very interesting situation. Does this mean renewed cultural life in NYC, California? New museums of contemporary art with no censorship? Looks good, they say.
With all the money pumped into the adventures of the banking gangsters and wall street crooks, I don't think there will be much left for cultural spending. Not only in America but in Europe too.
In Belgium, after saving the banks, the government is now trying to save the Opel and Ford plants from closing down permanently.
We are on a a rough ride peeps and it only has just begun! Remember: taxmoney that's spend on this, can not be spend on something else and bills have to be paid.
Protectionism is on its way. "Buy American" and in Europe they are already planning to block the Chinese from selling their stuff here at bottom prices and thus destroying our economy. Where's that couple that all started this havoc, Mr. Fannie Mac en Mrs. Fannie Mae? In jail I hope????
Hey, we still have the Music right? I'm playing The Lehmann Brother's "Money's too tight to mention" right now!
