Looking for the artist and title of the Beatles music set to a disco beat. It came out about '80/'81 time frame. I think it was called 'Hooked On Beatles'. It featured about 18-20 single-verse sections of Beatles songs that sounded very similar to the Beatles (not an orchestra). I thought this was very well done... One name that seems to stick with me is 'Jan' (pronounced yan) ?Hammerman?
This one has been driing me crazy for 2 years.... Thanks!!
Stars on 45 was the name of the, ahem, group.
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
Don't know how this guy got mixed in with your Beatles search but he did do something kinda nice:Originally Written by innova4100

Any idea what the name of the medley is? I'm trying to find the recording....
Stars on 45 released one album in 1983.
I scissored the tracklist from allmusic:
1. Rock Around the Clock
2. Shake, Rattle & Roll
3. Jailhouse Rock
4. Love Me Tender (Matson/Presley)
5. Where the Boys Are
6. Blowin' in the Wind (Dylan)
7. The Sound of Silence (Simon)
8. Drive My Car (Lennon/McCartney)
9. Hey Jude (Lennon/McCartney)
10. Foxey Lady
11. Somebody to Love
12. Papa's Got a Brand New Bag
13. Macho Man
14. Whip It
I don't know if they were all medleys. They also did Abba and Motown medleys
The answer to your query:
1. Beatles Medley/Stars on 45/No Reply/I'll... (Harrison/Lennon/McCartney/Starr) - 16:13
allmusic show a Greatest Hits package for Stars on 45. But I suppose you wanna download. (sigh)
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
Is a download available? If so, where? That would be fantastic! :D
i have a beatlemix of 94 minuted made by DJ Deep
I thought I'd throw in my two cents in. I just recently downloaded a Beatles medly from Winamp but it wasn't from Stars on 45 but from Disconet. It's possible that the person that posted it has it mis-named. I'd have to do some research and get back to you.

The Stars On 45 record was a direct copy of a bootleg 12" called Bits And Pieces Vol 2 (1980). The original Beatles recordings and other classic singles were mixed over the top of a basic four-on-the-floor beat. Stars On 45 was by Starsound (Dutch producer Jaap Eggermont), who really cashed in on the idea having a Worldwide hit in 1981, including a US #1.
In fact the record you should be looking for is
Bits n pieces vol 3
The stars on 45 project was a straight cover version of some of the sequences from the bootleg mix.
The tracklisting of the bootleg medley/mix:

Hi, I was just looking in my "Hit singles" book and saw where "Stars on 45" popped up in May 1981 at number 12. And moving up to number 2 in June and staying on the chart thru July..but in May of 82 there was a "The Beatles movie medley" on Capitol records which showed up at number 15, the artist being..The Beatles. I don't remember this, but it must not have anything to with "Stars on 45". I down-loaded a Beatles Disconet medley which runs 10:04 which sounds just like the Beatles, maybe it is. That must have really been big back then, putting medleys out, the Beach Boys also had a medley out on Capitol records in Sep. of 81. I got my download from Audiogalaxy which I don't use anymore, now I use WINMX...good luck.![]()
