Song ID - african sounding pop song "Waika Waika, chukkin mike dean away" (?)

    Hi All -

This is driving me nuts - it's very catchy pop song - used a lot in movie soundtracks (don't know which ones)
I have no idea from which era, maybe 1990s?? Sort of African, maybe in it's rhythmic chanting - I don't think the lyrics are in English, but they are very distinctive and sound something like:

    Ooo-ah, Ooo-ah
    waika waika
    waika - way
    chukkin mike dean,
    chukkin mike dean,
    chukkin mike dean away

It's probably an easy one as I think it was a well-known song. Can anyone help ID song and artist?

Kinda sounds like a Johnny Clegg & Savuka song, from South Africa. The chorus was "we are the scatterlings of Africa". Unfortunately very popular in the '80s. Can't remember the exact lyrics, so I might be wrong.

Nope that's not it but thanks anyway.

I could be totally wrong with the African description, it might be something in English I misheard (chucking my tea away? shuckin my DNA? I think that was the chorus phrase) It's something really mainstream, used to hear it a lot. I swear I need to hum it and upload as a Mp3
