Hi, recently someone ask me about this rare gem from an old disco tape dated 1975. It's an early-disco shite a-la Crown Heights Affair... but it isn't.
Can u ID?

still no luck, Z share usually works fine for me if you can upload it there...
Definately, NOT. I have the entire Vast Majority 1975 album, and its not "Love for sale".
Although seems they are singing "love for saaaale.. papapaaarapapaaa"
Uploaded to zshare too.

It definitely IS some version of Cole Porter's "Love For Sale"-- I have the Vast Majority LP at home but haven't listened to it for a long time---if you have it also and say it's not their version, I'll have to trust you--BUT that is the correct song title. I knows my Cole Porter.![]()
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
I'm listening again Vast Majority's LP Move It! from 1975... and IT IS NOT "LOVE FOR SALE" Sounds completely different!!
Ok, the group could be the vast majority, similar instrumentation and sound recording... I think they pressed a 12" with Love for Sale and Ocean's Apart on the flip... A DIFFERENT VERSION ON THE 12"? (strange tho..)
It's some jazzy-arranged version of "Love For Sale"---kinda like Yambu did with "Sunny"....the basic melody of the song comes through around 1:30....maybe not the Vast Majority version....but some version of that song.
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
I found the James Last version on Youtube--but it wasn't the same as your sample--but listen to it and you'll hear the melody.
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
damn...
I'm sure that the track is not titled "Love for sale"... ive searched all versions arround 75/76 and nothing...
This is a hard one for sure.
But hey, sure there is some "disco-fanatic" who could help us on this one!!! Pleasee

Shamir, effectively, this is JAMES LAST - LOVE FOR SALE , but hey:
The cut is extracted of his album "WELL KEPT SECRET" 1975 on Polydor. (I think they did singles as well)
Thank you to all!!

Glad you found it....I listened to the first minute or so of this and didn't think it sounded like your sample--but maybe I needed to listen further?

The version in the youtube video is another one.
His album "Well kept secret" has been re-released on CD: "James Last In Los Angeles"!
