Another TGIF tidbit...
The original version of Diana Ross' track from the movie,
was released on the soundtrack.
(Though, not in extended form.)
It's on the promo copies and the
first-run press of the US commercial LPs.
On the original soundtrack release
(with the muddy, Motown '76-ish mix from the movie):
"L, L & G" is listed as 3'30" & "Last Dance" is listed as 7'10"
On the re-Mastered soundtrack release
(with the I Feel Love-esque remix):
"L, L & G" is listed as 4'39" & "Last Dance" is listed as 6'58"
NOTE: "Last Dance" is actually, 8'10" on all pressings. LP & 12"
You all know how fiercely adamant I am about not fostering rumour, as truth.
But I'll put this out there, as from a reasonably reliable source...
According to my lightman, at the time, who'd been told by someone at Casablanca...
The Ross track got pulled & remixed
(and, particularly, to sound like "I Feel Love"), because Motown pitched a
royal fit, upon the soundtrack's release. They were pretty pissed-off about Diana being buried on side-4, in the poorest sound-quality track, on the entire 3-record set.

While Side-1
(with Donna)
, had noticeably better sound-quality.
<-----(tho' I use the term "sound-quality", very loosely)***
But... When Casablanca re-mastered side-4, with Diana's remix, they
also re-mastered side-1, to
up the sound-quality on Donna's tracks.
***Considering the LP was such an extreme rush-release and hastily mastered...
And that there's so much packed onto the sides, with Side-1 @ 24'21", Side-2 @ 21'38", Side-3 @ 22'10", Side-4 @ 23'09", prior to having the technology to really do that,
properly...
(like the "Passion Tracking"LPs, from the 80's) The whole soundtrack
(12" singles, included) could've used a complete re-mastering.
Though, if you get the Japanese pressing, it blows-away any other, from any country. Whether LP, or 12" single.
On vinyl, it's the only way to hear all the songs, as they were meant to sound.
